Matt Laird

Matt received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame, where he was a 4 year letterman in baseball. He helped lead the Irish to 3 Big East Conference championships, 4 NCAA Regional championships and 1 NCAA Super Regional championship. During Matt's collegiate career, the Irish also appeared in the College World Series in 2002. He received numerous athletic and academic awards at Notre Dame, including being named to 4 All Big East Conference Academic Teams. He was also named a GTE Academic All American candidate in 2001.

Matt signed professionally with the Chicago Cubs organization, where he pitched as a closer in 2004. He led the Arizona League in ERA (0.45) and won the Rolaids Relief Man award before suffering a career ending shoulder injury.

Matt is a native of Houston, Texas, and graduated with honors from Bellaire High School in 1999. He holds many of the prestigious baseball school's all time records, including a 29-1 career record. Matt was the ace of the Cardinals and led them to the Texas State High School Championship in 1999. USA Today named Bellaire National Champions in 1999. Matt was selected as All Greater Houston, All State and All American. Matt was also the Houston area Scholar Athlete of the year in 1999.

In 2007, Matt received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence degree from the South Texas College of Law in Houston making him one of the few agents in the business who has both played professional baseball and is a licensed attorney.

Matt resides in Houston, Texas with his wife, Allison.
